Noro Mittens

Posted on: Wednesday, July 22nd, 2009

So, if you’re anything like me, you’ll be planning to knit as many Chirstmas presents as possible and that means starting around now.  I learnt that the hard way a couple of years ago when I was hiding in my bedroom on Christmas morning grafting socks.

From Noro Mini Knits

Here’s a quick knit, which would make an ideal Christmas present.

The pattern is Design 15 from ‘Noro: Designer Mini Knits 1‘.  It has been knit using 1 skein of Noro Cahsmere Island, shade 8, on 3.75mm and 4.5mm needles.  Other suitable yarns for this project include Noro Kureyon, Noro Silk Garden Lite and Noro Silk Garden.

I managed to knit a pair of these in a day, so why not whip some up to keep your loved ones’ hands warm this winter?

Sale!

Posted on: Wednesday, July 22nd, 2009

It’s that time of year again when I need to make room for all the scrummy new yarns that I have ordered for the autumn – I know I say it every year but next season’s collection is even better than ever!

There are going to be a couple of new suppliers coming into the shop and I promise you you won’t be disappointed.

There are a lot of yarns discounted at the moment; some because they have been discontinued and others because I won’t be restocking them.  So as they say “when they’ve gone – they’ve gone”.

A few examples:

  • 25% off all Rowan, RYC and Gedifra yarns and books
  • Colinette Banyan – was £4.40 now £3.40
  • Wendy Fusion – now £2.50
  • Patons Studio Mohair – now £2.50
  • All Araucania and Mirasol cottons reduced
  • Emu Superwash wool – now £2.00
  • Patons Linen Touch – now £2.00
  • Great discounts on Bergere de France yarns
  • Lots of pattern books 50% off
  • Lots of patterns – 50p each
  • Daisy knitting needles 50% off
  • Blippity and other fancy yarns down to £4.25 and £3.00
  • Noro Kochoran – was £11.50 now £10.50
  • Debbie Bliss Donegal Aran Tweed – was £3.85 now £3.50
  • Noro Silk Mountain – was £6.95 now £4.95
  • Louisa Harding – cotton mixes now £3.00
  • Many Anny Blatt yarns reduced
  • Wendy Roxy & Narvic reduced

There are far too many to list so you’ll just have to come in a grab a bargain!  Think of all those Christmas pressies!

Despite the fact that most yarn companies have increased their prices (apart from good old Wendy yarns who have actually reduced some of their yarn prices) I am still keeping mine at the old price.  However, after August I will no longer be able to do this; so another good reason to come in and add to your stash.

I am pleased to say that the online shop is now live – well it’s OK if you live in the UK but we’re still having a few probs with overseas shipping rates; hopefully will be resolved over the next couple of weeks.  Look forward to hearing what you think of it.

I am going to close the shop from Tuesday 11th August until Thursday 14th August reopening again on Friday 14th August so that I can do a bit of a tart up.  However, if I am in the shop during that time and you have a knitting emergency it will be OK to come in although you might be roped into helping with the refurb!

Will update you all with the fabulous new yarns and accessories that are coming in for autumn/winter 09/10 during August.

Once again, thank you all for your support and please let me know if there is anything else you would like to see in the shop or how we can improve.

PS am now stocking complete range of Knitpro needles/accessories/buttons etc.

Wimbledon Project

Posted on: Thursday, July 2nd, 2009

OK, I’m a knitter, I don’t crochet but I was on the look out for some suitable projects to do while watching Wimbledon and I found this cute project for a crochet tennis ball. Why not give it a go while you’re watching Murray win it for the UK?
